What Is “Yoga Nidra”?
Yoga Nidra is an ancient technique from India to relax the mind and body.
If you’ve been to a yoga class before, the guided meditation “relaxation” portion at the end of the class is usually called “Yoga Nidra”. You know the “non-exercise relaxation part” that you can’t wait to lay down in corpse pose (Savasana) to relax?!
According to Wikipedia:
“Yoga nidra is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “going-to-sleep” stage, typically induced by a guided meditation. There is evidence that yoga nidra helps relieve stress… the US Army uses it to assist soldiers to recover from PTSD.
